This four-man string band is based in Buenos Aires with members from Argentina, Mexico and the United States. Che Apalache began as a bluegrass band, but eventually incorporated Latin American styles into their repetoir. Combining instrumental prowess with tight vocal harmonies, they have curated an authentic blend of genres to reflect the nature of their lives. Evoking images from Appalachia to the Andes, their affectionately titled debut album, “Latingrass” is testament to a powerful cultural and musical exchange.

Stemming from the Lomax Project, Jayme Stone’s Folklife treats old field recordings not as time capsules, but as heirloom seeds passed down from a bygone generation. Planting these sturdy seeds in modern soil, this versatile gathering of musicians has cultivated vibrant Sea Island spirituals, Creole calypsos, and stomp-down Appalachian dance tunes for contemporary listeners. Their concerts are moving, inventive, and participatory experiences that prove folk songs are indeed perennials for the people.
