Come take dance lessons from Brad Smith! Learn new steps, perfect ones learned before and have fun!
The second of four sessions being offered during the month, the October 14 lesson will be “Waltz” and “Cha Cha”. This class will be held at NCRESA, the building directly across the parking lot from the Dogwood Center. This location is for this class only. All other dance lessons are held at the Dogwood Center.
The “Waltz” is one of the most popular of all dances. It is a smooth progressive dance characterized by long, flowing movements, continuous turns, and rise and fall. Graceful and elegant, Waltz dancers glide around the floor almost effortlessly. With its easy-to-hear 1-2-3, 1-2-3 rhythm pattern and simple box step foundation pattern, it’s also easy to learn.
The “Cha Cha” is extraordinarily popular with old and young alike. This dance has wide application because Cha Cha music is popular in all music genres, including country, funk, and hip-hop. This is a party Dance! The interpretation of Cha Cha music is a happy, carefree, party-time dance expression.
Lessons being offered at the Dogwood Center include “Swing” on October 7, “Waltz” and “Cha Cha” on October 14, “Foxtrot” and “Rumba” on October 21, and “Polka” on October 28. Sign up for one evening of lessons, several, or all four nights! Show off your new skills at the Otsego Jazz Ensemble concert at the Dogwood on October 30 and dance the night away!
The class will be from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the Dogwood Black Box. Pre-registration is greatly appreciated. Register today by calling the Dogwood Box Office at 231.924.8885!
