Friday, November 17- Fremont HS Theatre Presents: Radium Girls

In the 1920s, radium was all the rage; it was used for everything from a miracle cure for cancer to luminous watches. But when the women who painted the watches begin to fall ill, The United States Radium Corporation denies all responsibility for the diseases the women face. Based on a true story, “Radium Girls” tells of how several dial painters fight a legal battle against their former employer to bring their case to court. But the longer the case is drawn out, the sicker the women become, and their chances of winning start to diminish with their health. Learn how this real-life event concludes by following Grace Fryer as she fights for justice not only for herself but for all the women who face certain death due to radium poisoning at the hands of their company.
