Join the Michigan Mandolin Orchestra as it kicks off its 3rd season. The Grand Rapids based MMO, led by Michigan’s mandoliner Brian Oberlin, will play an incredible line-up of music from the concert music repertoire. The orchestra will perform concert hall standards, “March from Carmen” and Gabriel Faure’s “Pavane” to Britten’s “Pizzicato Polka”. As well as music written specifically for a mandolin orchestra will cascade from the stage courtesy of contemporary composers Aris Blettenberg and Amadei Amadeo. Featured guest, Folias Duoof, of Grand Rapids will play a set of their music as well as the J.S. Bach Double Concerto and Penitente Canyon with the Michigan Mandolin Orchestra.
