Fremont High School Theater presents Newsies as their spring musical.

Show Synopsis:

Inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of a group of rough-and-tumble boys who decide to go head-to-head with newspaper tycoon Joseph Pulitzer. When the price of newspapers rises at the newsboys’ expense, they make it known that they won’t back down. Jack and Davey organize a union while Katherine follows the story closely, reporting on the details of the planned strike and getting to know the newsies. As events unfold, it becomes increasingly clear that it will take more than just an idea for the newsies to get the fair treatment they deserve, and they must persist through the challenges as they arise. Soon, all of New York City recognizes the impact these young boys can have when they stand together against injustice.
