Happendance Company is a professional company of dancers from Okemos who perform, teach, and choreograph concert dance works. The company is a collective led by Happendance’s CEO, Rachel Miller, and Rehearsal Director, Andrew Muylle. The company specializes in contemporary dance, working in styles informed by traditional modern, jazz, ballet, and hip hop/urban styles. Their performances are always exciting and unpredictable!

This touring program features the Happendance Professional Company performing repertory drawn from two signature collaborations created during Happendance’s 50th Anniversary season. Threading Moonbows explores themes of connection, reflection, and resilience through evocative contemporary choreography developed in collaboration with musical composers of the contemporary music ensemble, Aurora and Antheia, creating a rich, atmospheric dance experience.

The program is paired with selections from Happendance’s dynamic collaboration with the Lansing Community College Jazz Band, where contemporary dance and live jazz intersect—celebrating improvisation, musicality, and the shared creative language between dancers and musicians. Together, these works highlight Happendance’s legacy of interdisciplinary collaboration, artistic excellence, and community partnership, offering audiences a vibrant and engaging evening of contemporary dance.
