SUMMARY:April 22 - Harborcoat - 7:30 p.m.
DESCRIPTION:The solo-esque project began as a songwriting outlet in 2016 for output that didn’t fit with other projects. The vision was initially a bedroom artistic venture\, but a dear friend suggested Matthew Carlson make a real record\, and Harborcoat became a functioning band that plays shows and records with an ever-evolving cast of musicians. The phrase “Joy Is Elusive”\, and the name of their latest album\, appeared in Carlson’s head one day\, and the singer/songwriter/guitarist wrote it in black Sharpie on a piece of paper and tacked it to the wall above his studio computer. Originating from Grand Ledge\, Michigan\, Harborcoat is a rousing dose of English pop-rock that recalls the Smiths\, 1980s new wave\, and the 1990s Brit-pop invasion. \nClick here to purchase your tickets now! Tickets are $12.50 each. General admission\, Black Box. Tables can be reserved with the purchase of eight tickets. The Dogwood Center is located one mile east of downtown Fremont. SUMMARY:March 19 - The Barley Saints - 7:30 p.m.
DESCRIPTION:The Barley Saints were founded in West Michigan\, in 2017\, by Ray Veen\, and Scott Sheldon. Originally called “Knotwork”\, the band coalesced around the rough idea of playing up-tempo Irish tunes for pubs and parties. Several musicians tried out and played with the band in their early days\, but it became quite a challenge to find the right combination of personalities\, folks with similar values\, musical interests\, and skill-levels – not to mention basic availability.  For this reason\, the early lineup of the band went through several transitions.  A few shows were played during that time\, but because they hadn’t settled on their final roster\, there was never a sense of being able to get the band off the ground floor. \nAll of that changed when the band’s good friend Dan Seabolt (of the Oat-bran Boys) suggested they contact one of his former fiddle students\, Hannah Kroll.  After joining the guys at one practice\, the entire mood and energy of the band changed. Hannah brought a fresh perspective\, a youthful exuberance\, and a MIND-BLOWING amount of pure\, unadulterated talent.  Most importantly\, Hannah came to the band with a real sense of commitment\, connection\, and direction… qualities that the earlier members of the band had spent nearly a year searching for. With a renewed sense of hope and energy\, the band re-invented themselves as The Barley Saints\, and begin booking shows in earnest. \nThe Barley Saints are a five-piece Celtic rock band from the Muskegon area of West Michigan. They specialize in a mix of Irish pub tunes\, up-tempo Irish folk songs\, and fast-paced traditional dance tunes\, supported by driving rock beats. With their lineup finally complete\, solid\, and committed\, The Barley Saints started booking more and more shows\, more often\, in new and more exciting venues. They also began writing some original music\, and at this time\, are discussing their next\, most momentous\, and exciting step yet… recording their first album. \nClick here to purchase your tickets now! Tickets are $15 each. General admission\, Black Box. Tables can be reserved with the purchase of eight tickets. The Dogwood Center is located one mile east of downtown Fremont. Doors open for seating at 7:00 p.m. \nOnline sales close two hours prior to events\, please call the box office for ticket availability at 231-924-8885 if online sales have ended.

SUMMARY:February 19 - Baffling Bill - 3:00 p.m.
DESCRIPTION:This magician and illusionist’s interest in magic began at age five\, when a kindergarten classmate performed a magic trick for show and tell. The classmate made a ball disappear and reappear. This feat of magic left an impression on Bill that would not be forgotten. He started requesting magic sets for Christmas and birthdays as he grew up. He would attend Norm Clothier’s Magic Camp\, check out magic books at the library\, and put together shows for the neighborhood kids. Throughout junior high and high school Bill would win talent shows with his magic act. Baffling Bill helped pay his way through five years of college performing shows and working at magic shops. After college he fell in love with and married Diane who encouraged Bill to go into magic as a full-time career. In 1987 they established their magic company\, “Absolutely Baffling Magic by William and Di.” Card tricks\, illusions\, rabbits\, and puzzling magic! Things will disappear and re-appear later in the show when you least expect it! Be ready to giggle\, laugh\, and then wonder… “How did he do that???” A special appearance by Gus the Bunny. \nPurchase your tickets here. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 18 and under\, general admission.  The Dogwood Center is located one mile east of downtown Fremont.
