SUMMARY:Friday\, January 13 - Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds 7:30 p.m. Black Box
DESCRIPTION:Erin Zindle is the songwriter\, fiddler\, and leader of the nationally-touring folk-rock band Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds. With a genre-bending hybrid of indie-pop melodies\, global-infused beats\, rock guitar riffs\, conscious lyrics and virtuosic fiddling\, Erin Zindle & The Ragbirds deliver something that’s hard to define. Their music is equally danceable\, intelligent\, and vulnerable – a rare combination in an increasingly marketing-driven industry. \nAt each performance\, Erin transforms into a seemingly-mythical creature who dances with graceful arms outstretched\, hand-made wings glued to her shoulders\, recklessly digging into her fiddle strings with her bow. Her voice is both earthy and ethereal\, full of character and texture with lyrics that point to the daily paradox of intentionally cultivating hope in the midst of a crazed and jaded world. She skillfully switches between violin\, kalimba\, piano\, and accordion\, never losing her infectious smile. \nClick here for tickets. Tickets are $15.00 each. General admission\, Black Box. Tables can be reserved with the purchase of eight tickets. The Dogwood Center is located one mile east of downtown Fremont. Doors open for seating at 7:00 p.m. \nOnline sales close two hours prior to events\, please call the box office for ticket availability at 231-924-8885 if online sales have ended.

She also serves as a scribe for Freedom Road Institute for Leadership and Justice\, coordinates support for people experiencing homelessness in her neighborhood\, and is a co-founder of Jubilee Homes OC\, a permanent supportive housing initiative in her local community. \nThis lecture will be broadcast live at the Dogwood Center from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Admission is free. \nFor more information on the Calvin University January Series click here. \nThe Dogwood Center\, a remote site for the Calvin University January Series\, is supported in part by the Fremont Area Community Foundation.

SUMMARY:Friday\, November 4 - 'The Nebula Project' 7:30 p.m. Black Box.
DESCRIPTION:Ben Rosenblum’s “The Nebula Project” dives deeply into Rosenblum’s jazz and world-infused original compositions\, exploring the intersection of jazz and improvised American music with global styles ranging from Bulgaria to the Caribbean. The all-star sextet of musicians includes unusual and unique instrumentation opportunities – Rosenblum’s switches between piano and accordion\, and the horn player doubles on sax and bass clarinet\, leading to a wide variety of possibilities. \nBen is based primarily in New York City and is a graduate of the Columbia-Juilliard program. His original music combines his extensive knowledge of the history of jazz with a free-wheeling\, modern melodic sensibility\, and powerful narrative approach to the piano. His profound passion for jazz\, swing and world music genres finds expression in his unique fusion of harmonic and rhythmic elements from a wide array of sources and gives rise to a signature compositional sound and style at once iconoclastic and deeply rooted in such figures as Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly. Ben’s priority in his composition and in his playing is to tell a compelling story with his music\, while reaching the hearts of his audience\, connecting on an emotional\, an intellectual and a spiritual level. \nIn 2020\, the Nebula Project was voted runner-up for Best New Artist in JazzTimes’ Readers’ Poll. Rosenblum has shared the stage with many highly acclaimed jazz musicians\, including extensive work with Curtis Lundy\, Winard Harper\, Deborah Davis and Chris Washburne\, and many others. \nClick here for tickets. SUMMARY:Thursday\, October 13 - Glenn Miller Orchestra 7:30 p.m. Main Stage
DESCRIPTION:Over sixty years since the public first embraced the successful Miller Sound\, both the legend and the music live on.  The World-Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra is the most sought after big band in the world today for both concert and dance engagements.  Still considered the greatest band of all time\, its unique sound is loved by almost anybody that cares for dance music.\nThe legendary Glenn Miller was one of the most successful of all the dance bandleaders back in the Swing era of the 1930’s and 40’s.  But\, in 1944 while leading the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band\, Miller died while traveling to entertain the troops in Europe.  The Miller estate formed the present Glenn Miller Orchestra in 1956 following strong popular demand.  The band has been touring consistently since\, playing an average of 300 live dates a year around the globe to millions of fans. \nThe 16-member band continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements that keep exciting fans who have not heard them played for a while.  Additionally\, they are also playing more modern selections in the big-band style\, carefully selecting only those newer tunes that lead themselves naturally to the Miller style and sound. \nCome out and hear the music you love from the best band around!  Moonlight Serenade\, I’ve Got a Gal in Kalamazoo\, Chattanooga Choo-Choo\, A String of Pearls …. all the great tunes of the Swing era! \nMusic director and tenor saxophonist\, Erik Stabnau\, brings his lifelong enthusiasm for big band music to each performance of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Having grown up with a love for the music of the swing era\, Erik naturally gravitated toward Glenn Miller\, drawn to his recognizable melodies and the distinctive sound of his reed section. A Western New York native\, Erik learned to play the saxophone\, flute\, and clarinet in a variety of disciplines before developing an interest in the large ensembles of Ellington\, Basie\, Dorsey\, Miller and others. Excited to pursue a future in music\, he attended college at the Eastman School of Music in his hometown of Rochester\, earning a bachelor’s of music in Jazz and Contemporary Media. Intent on broadening his education\, Erik went on to study music business and recording with a masters degree in Audio Arts from Syracuse University. \nPrior to his time with the Glenn Miller Orchestra\, Erik performed and recorded as a bandleader and sideman throughout the Northeast\, adding to his credentials experience as an educator\, clinician\, writer\, and arranger. He was thrilled with the opportunity to join the orchestra in June 2017 on tenor saxophone\, playing the music and solos that Tex Beneke first made famous in the 1930’s and 40’s. As a member of the band\, Erik has performed across the US in 48 states and abroad in Canada and Japan and now is honored to step in front of the orchestra as its music director. \nClick here to purchase your tickets. Each growing up with different influences\, listening to bands like \nJourney and classic country legends like Loretta Lynn\, the three keep their lyrics honest and their music full of roots and authenticity. They are currently recording a studio album\, produced by Kid Rock and are continuing to write for future projects. Performing all over the country in venues like arenas\, theaters\, and outdoor music festivals\, the three have a love and passion for traveling together and meeting their fans. Kate\, Victoria\, and Charity take great pride in writing their own music and connecting with fans through their lyrics. Together\, the three encompass what it means to be classy southern women with a love for what they do. Sweet Tea Trio is bringing a new “old school country with a rhinestone flair” to Nashville. Robert Ritchie/Kid Rock explains\, “These young ladies are some of the most talented\, kind hearted and hard working singers and players I have ever met. At their young ages they are already becoming fast scholars of the road and writing songs. In my opinion they pick up where the Dixie Chicks and Pistol Annies meet. They are 100% country and I look forward to sharing my 30 years in this business to get them an honest shot at the big time.“ \nClick here to purchase your tickets. Tickets are $17.50 each. SUMMARY:August 6 – Jake Allen 7:30 p.m. Black Box.
DESCRIPTION:Michigan native\, Jake Allen crafts a kaleidoscopic sound that plunges the curious listener into a world of endless sonic possibilities\, incorporating prog-pop\, waves of ambient instrumentals\, and complex musical layers. Allen showcases the guitar\, harnessing every nuance of the instrument and transforming it into an ethereal\, shape-shifting creature that bends both notes and time.   \nAllen explores numerous musical styles with his guitar wizardry\, ranging from lullaby-like dreams to burgeoning anthems. A documentarian of sorts\, Allen’s immersive storytelling and emotional vocal performance offer a multi-timbral journey through time and space. The constant groove of driving drums\, bewitching guitar hooks\, and the whisper of a longing voice spark wonder\, evoking similarities to pop music’s golden ‘90s era. His fourth album\, “Affirmation Day” provides a snapshot of shifting perspectives and personal growth through the means of signature fingerpicking\, percussive guitar tapping\, and lush musical arrangements.  \nAs a solo artist\, Allen utilizes impeccably timed live looping to create a captivating one-man show. Steeped in years of live performance and well-versed in an array of instruments\, Allen’s dexterity is only amplified when he wields a single guitar. DESCRIPTION:Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature\, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score\, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit\, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention\, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the Roma – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.  \nA sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame an instant classic. Audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.  \nAdmission is free\, general admission! Click here to get your tickets today!
